MEETINGS for 2009-2010 The budget for the year is the fees of 22x£40x12= £10,560 This spend does not take account of guest fees or fines, both of which provide yet more funds.
Meetings coloured in purple are past - those in yellow are booked - those in white are open to suggestions.
Meetings are either PUBx4 (cheap and cheerful at £600), MIDDLEx4 (middling costs at about £800), or AWAYDAYx3 (over £1200)
Ideas in the pipeline FOR 2009/10 are:
SHEEP HURDLE MANUFACTURING (can we actually do this one please Chris?) SEGWAY RIDING (Len, as you probably know they have this at Leeds Castle, have you spoken to them?) CANOEING ON THE MEDWAY (Pete, is this something you know someone who can organise for the summer?) CHEESE TASTING (This is one we have done at The Roffen and was great, organised by The Cheese Box, Whitstable, by Brian) and SHEEP SHEARING - GASS CRICKET MATCH FENCING - TREASURE HUNT - SECRET SQUIRREL, COOK IT YOURSELF DINNER - WALKING ON HOT COALS - INDIVIDUAL CARTOONS - AMATEUR DRAMATICS, BASKET WEAVING - BELLY DANCE CLASS - GASS MALE VOICE CHOIR - GRASS TRACK BIKE RACING
The geographical balance has changed slightly with Hugh in Medway and Gary in Sittingbourne. The balance is now Medway 10 members, Maidstone 6 members, Sittingbourne 4 members, and 2 in Harrietsham which is more Sittingbourne than Maidstone. The ideal balance of 12 meetings is the AGM, two AWAYDAYS leaving 9 local, split roughly 4 Medway, 2.5 Maidstone, 2.5 Sittingbourne Sorry about the block of three in Medway (Jan,Feb,Mar) - the next will be back down south.
As you can see Ron finally coughed up the figures, a mere five months it took. On the bright side - we are on budget!
MEETINGS for 2008-2009 The budget for the year was the fees of 22x£40x12= £10,560 This spend did not take account of guest fees or fines, which this year raised £5 - nice one Ian!
Meetings are either PUBx4 (cheap and cheerful at £600), MIDDLEx4 (middling costs at about £800), or AWAYDAYx3 (over £1200)
Members live roughly 10 in the Medway area, 9 Maidstone area, 3 Sittingbourne so an ideal annual split is either 4 or 5 each to Medway and Maidstone, 1 to Sittingbourne and 1 London. To date the programme above is Medway 4, Maidstone 4, Sittingbourne 2, London 1 - nice planning? no just lucky! AT THE END OF THE YEAR GASS HAD THE REQUIRED £5,000 IN THE BANK AGAIN AS A BUFFER - SPOT ON ACCOUNTING!
MEETINGS for 2007-2008 The budget for the year is the fees of 22x£40x12= £10,560 This spend does not take account of guest fees or fines, both of which provide yet more funds. Meetings coloured in purple are past - those in yellow are booked - those in white are open to suggestions. Meetings are either PUB (cheap and cheerful at £500), MID (middling costs at about £800), AWAY (over a £1000) In 2007 we celebrated the 25th Anniversary with a particularly expensive AGM. This led to an excess of expenditure over income.
NOTE: In 2006/7 there were 6 Medway based meetings to 3 Maidstone, 1 London, 1 Luton, which favoured Medway quite a bit.
Members live roughly 10 in the Medway area, 9 Maidstone area, 3 Sittingbourne so an ideal annual split is either 4 or 5 each to Medway and Maidstone, 1 to Sittingbourne and 1 London.
This year it looks like 4 Medway, 5 Maidstone, 1 Sittingbourne, 1 London - which is a fair balance after last year.
Would those who have never sponsored a meeting give it serious thought please.
MEETINGS held in 2006-2007 A great series of meetings for the 25th year The budget for the year is the fees of 22x£40x12= £10,560 plus the surplus funds of £1,500, a total spend of £12,060 As this was our 25th year we spent £11,500 on meetings as opposed to £8,000 in previous years
GEOGRAPHICALLY this is 3 in Medway, 3 in North Downs, 3 awaydays, 1 in the middle and one undecided, plus the AGM . Hopefully this is a fair spread and reflects where our members live.
