We booked Tower Bridge exclusively for GASS on Tuesday 5th May
For a PRIVATE EVENING PERSONAL GUIDED TOUR
THE PLAN
15.00 -. Meet at The Roffen Club for drinks. 15.30 - Walk to Rochester Station in time to get tickets and get on the 15.57 Train to St Pancras International 16.35 - 5 minute walk from St Pancras to Boris Bike Station and hire bikes. 17.00 - Set off on bikes to Tower Bridge. About a 35 minute ride. Bike to The Walrus & Carpenter in Monument Street where there are a lot of Boris Bike spaces to dump the bikes. 18.15 - Dead on - we depart for a 10 minute walk along the Thames Path to Tower Bridge, North Tower. 18.30 - Tour starts. 20.00 - Tour ends. 20.05 - The Perkin Reveller for dinner. The pub under Tower Bridge where we started the Christmas do. 23.25 - Last train from St Pancras to Rochester.
And amazingly the plan worked swimmingly. We all got there (apart from a couple of Tesla related issues) more or less on time. Everyone jumped aboard a Boris Bike and we cycled through some beautiful London streets including The Law Courts and The City. Nobody was knocked off a bike, although near misses were in abundance. Everyone was impressed by Tower Bridge and we had a great meal at The Perkin Reveller.
To tell the story in pictures.......
BORIS BIKES - Right across town, not a GASS helmet in sight!
GASS ON THE GLASS WALKWAY - TOWER BRIDGE
Some members unsure of the concept, or just plain daft.
Phil finally gets a proper job - on reception
Another great day out!!!
